Drabble #127 - Responsible

Characters/Pairings: Ryo, Bikky
Warnings: None
Timeline: Somewhere during or after the manga
Spoilers: None

"Bikky, what happened to your plant?", Ryo exclaimed, "When was the last time that poor thing got some water?"

"Urm, what plant are you talking about?", Bikky asked back.

"The potted plant I gave you last month", Ryo sighed. He had hoped that taking care of a plant would teach Bikky some responsibility, but that plan had failed.

"What's wrong with it?", Bikky asked again, keeping up the innocent act.

"Don't you see it? It looks like... like a mummy!"

"So?" Bikky shrugged. "A mummy is way cooler than a boring flower, anyways!"

Ryo gave up. There was no hope.

(Author's Notes: Maybe a cactus would be a better choice for Bikky. It sure is for me... )

Poor plant! Bikky just doesn't have an instinct for nurturing i guess, unlike Ryo.

At least not when it comes to plants! If it was Carol he'd be nurturing, he would always do his best! But plants... well... (I'm thinking about your cute sunflower story right now :D )

Thank you! :)

Bikky doesn't have a good track record with plants, it's true!

My mom tried exactly that same tactic with me, but the plant died of thirst. None of her children inherited her love of plants and gardens.

I have some very realistic looking silk flowers that cannot die if I should happen to forget about them, which I frequently do.

Edible candy flowers are the best!

Same here! When I was younger, I had to take care of all the plants in our apartment for quite some time until my mum gave up and gave me another weekly task instead. But since my 18th birthday I have to take care of the plants in my own room again. My lovely orchid and aloe vera don't look so good anymore, but at least they are alive (and blooming!), which is a success.
(I also have two cactuses - cacti? - that are never complaining, I love those!)

Thank you! It's good to know I'm not the only one who just can't communicate with plants! :D
