The Honeymoon Adventures, Part 10: Ridiculous in Iceland

Characters/Pairings: Dee/Ryo, another tourist, a pony
Warnings: None
Timeline: After Dee and Ryo's wedding
Spoilers: To the whole series

"You gotta be kidding me!", Dee laughed, "I could wrap my legs three times around this pony!"

"As long as your feet don't drag across the ground, you're good", Ryo joked.

And then the touristic horseback tour began, with Dee complaining non-stop about feeling ridiculous. When they were crossing a shallow glacier brook, his pony had finally heard enough. It bucked and threw its ungrateful rider into the cold water.

"Feels much higher when you're falling down from it, huh?", another tourist commented.

"Okay, okay", Dee grumbled, "I won't mention it again."

The pony snorted in triumph. Who's ridiculous now?

To be continued...

(Author's Notes: Ponies are so mean! But then again, Dee had it coming! xD )

Pony 1, Dee 0

I think I've ridden that pony, Lol! It tried hard, but I stayed on.

Dee's obviously not a natural rider!

Back when I still had riding lessons, I hated when that happened, lol! Thankfully I was too tall for all the stubborn ponies. But unfortunately, some taller horses were quite mean, too... xD

Dee is definitely regretting that horseback tour. I bet it was Ryo's idea, anyways.

Thank you! :D

I only ever had two riding lessons, my parents couldn't afford more (well, I bet my dad could have, but he didn't like spend
ing money on anyone but himself).

We went on one hour pony treks on holiday in Wales, but after the first time they put me on a horse, my friend on a pony and sent us off on our own, lol! I'm only 5 ft tall and they're sticking me on a 16 hand horse saying, "Well, we know you can ride and you know the route." *shrugs* I always loved riding, rode whenever I got the chance, but I'm severely allergic to horses so I could only ride for an hour before breathing started getting difficult.

Poor you, allergies suck! Luckily I don't have a horse allergy but my mum does, so it was a long and bitter fight until she finally agreed that I could have riding lessons. And even then, I had to pay a part of the costs from my pocket money.

However, I always loved riding as well, although I'm really not talented at it. xD That and the high costs (riding is so expensive! :( ) were the reasons why I eventually stopped.

Still, I hope I'll get the chance to hop on a pony when I'm in Iceland this summer. Fingers crossed that I won't embarrass myself like Dee! xD

I'm no expert either, though I can stay on at a canter. I used to know people who had ponies or horses and they'd sometimes take me for a ride when I was young. I was lucky that there was a field full of horses by our school playing field. I spent a lot of time at breaks and lunch just watching them. A mare got out once and I'm told she nearly trampled me. I was looking the other way but she went past at a flat out gallop, swerved at the last second and just missed me, according to my friend. I felt the breeze as she passed, but I have no idea how close she got. She was known for being bad tempered though. I don't think they were treated very well. They were brood mares - I even saw one of the foals born. Haven't thought about that in years. =)

At least he's not afraid of horses - that would have been even more embarrassing! xD

Thank you! ^_^
